Yn Y Man

Capel NewyddCôr Meibion Dinefwr held their annual concert last night and
we sang a new song which I really like. This lovely hymn was
written by John Roberts 1822-77 (Ieuan Gwyllt) and is sung
to the tune Sweet By and By (Joseph P Webster 1819-75).
It tells of a beautiful place that we shall see presently.
Our Father is waiting and we shall meet and reside there
before long. There our souls will have no worry, no longing
or terror.

Yn Y Man

Oes mae gwlad sydd yn harddach na’r haul,

Ni a’i gwelwn hi draw, draw yn glir;

Yno’n disgwyl ein gweld mae ein Tad,

Cawn fynd yno i breswylio cyn hir.

O mor bêr, yn y man,

Ni gawn gwrdd ar y lan brydferth draw, yn y man,

Ni gawn ganu caniadau’r rhai pur,

‘Rol cyrhaeddyd y lan brydferth draw;

Bydd ein henaid heb drallod na chur,

Heb ofid, na hiraeth, na braw.

Am y cynnal a’r cadw drwy’r daith,

Am oludoedd y cariad mewn Iawn,

Byth i’r Drindod mewn undod heb drai

Bydd y nefoedd o foliant yn llawn.

O mor bêr, yn y man,

Ni gawn gwrdd ar y lan brydferth draw.
